It’s beach season!! Yesssssssssss. Seriously, it felt like summer would never get here this year, but we kicked it off with a Memorial Day weekend at the beach with absolutely perfect weather. Last year, we were regulars at the beach, so I’ve got a pre & post-beach skincare routine down. Here’s what I do step-by-step.
When it comes to before the beach, I’m about two things: Making my skin look glowy and layering up on sunscreen. The body scrub I use has coconut oil in it, so after I leave the shower, I’m able to skip moisturizing. And because I’m incredibly protective of my face, I layer up on multiple products that have SPF and also provide a little bit of natural coverage.
Post-sun, I’m all about replenishing moisture to my skin while also soothing it from any irritation and heat. The body wash and body lotion I use has aloe in it, which is really soothing, and it’s also safe for sensitive skin. If there’s one product I wouldn’t skip out on in this routine, it would be the Neutrogena Hydrogel Mask. It’s cooling and incredibly hydrating. My skin always feels so supple after using it. If there’s anything in my normal skincare routine I skip during this time, it’s products with Alpha Hydroxy Acids, because it can cause irritation before, during, and after sun exposure.
