No matter the time of year, I seem to find myself in Miami quite a bit. Whether it’s a girls’ trip or a getaway with Rich, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the city, especially South Beach. I put together this Miami Travel Guide in hopes that it gives you lots of ideas for what to do, eat, drink & wear while visiting, but also inspires you to get there ASAP. I held off posting this until now because I know a lot of you will be heading down there to escape winter or enjoy Spring Break. I’ve broken up the guide into several sections to make it super easy for you to find whatever you’re looking for. Hope it’s helpful!
There are sooooo many options for food here that I created a whole guide for where to eat in a separate post. I covered everything–healthy bites, dinner clubs, quick snacks, post-beach tacos–literally everything you need to check out while visiting. Just click the link below to access the guide.
{We enjoyed this Mexican spot after a day spent at the beach, and it was soooo good}
This was hands-down my favorite area when we visited last year. The neighborhood of Wynwood not only has tons of hip places to eat, shop and drink (think of it as the Brooklyn of Miami), but an area of the neighborhood is dedicated to Miami street and graffiti art. There are tons of stunning murals to check out, and there’s an art museum within it, as well. We made a whole day of shopping, eating and seeing here.
{So many beautiful murals here}
If you’re not hanging by the beach while in Miami, you’re not doing it right. There are plenty of hotels with beach access where you can rent chairs and umbrellas for the day. You can even have someone deliver drinks right to you! We really like using the Hilton South Beach beach access, but there are public areas, too. Pack a bag and make a day of it.
{You can access most of the hotel beaches in South Beach for the day}
This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve visited. Every aspect of the decor is treated like a piece of artwork. We popped in here before an evening flight, enjoying lunch by the pool. And I probably took like 2098234 pictures next to that gold-encrusted elephant.
What I love about Miami is that it’s a place to really have fun with your wardrobe, especially if you’re escaping a colder climate. I put together an entire packing list for Miami in a separate post, complete with mix & match outfits for everything you could get up to while visiting. Check it out by clicking the link below.
What To Wear In Miami: A Packing List
Rich and I stayed at The Gale, a boutique hotel, last time we visited and LOVED it. The amenities, room, rooftop pools and bars are everything you need in a Miami hotel. And there was complimentary breakfast each morning. Funny story, I went in to the breakfast area to get a bunch of fresh mango, grabbing a bowl of it off a shelf to more easily scoop some onto my plate, and the woman monitoring everything gave me a weird look. I realized when I got back to my room that I had just piled my plate with tons of CHEDDAR CHEESE, not mango! Chalk it up to me not having caffeine in my system yet.

This hotel is definitely high end, but everything is eco-friendly, sustainable and gorgeous. If it’s a special occasion, I recommend doing a night or two here. You can get ocean view rooms, and they have several luxe bars, pools, restaurants and things to do. If it’s out of your budget (it was for us), I would recommend just stopping in to hang out in the lobby while enjoying a juice from their juice bar, or laying by the pool with a drink in hand.

{We grabbed a juice in the lobby of Hotel 1 to detox and cool down a little}
