I was going to save this post for a little later since it’s warm at the end of September. But then I was watching The Voice the other night, and literally saw one of the singers wearing the exact fall cold shoulder jacket that I got from Rachel Roy, and plan on rocking all season. (Yes, I was watching The Voice *insert eye roll emoji*).
What I love about this cold shoulder jacket is that you’re covered up, but still showing some strategic skin. This one in particular is a lot more structured than blazers of seasons past, which I really appreciate. It’s giving me Dynasty vibes in alllll the right ways (speaking of more prime time TV shows coming back this fall). I also like that it’s oversized, but still fits in the right places to flatter just about any shape. It’ll become a basic to update your wardrobe with this autumn.
For this outfit, I wore it with a $10 Top Shop ribbed tank and modern take on a pencil skirt, but I also wore it with crop jeans, a striped tee and sneakers while running errands with my dog and getting coffee yesterday. The one thing I would suggest is to get one in a neutral color rather than a print since the cold shoulder is the trendy focus of the jacket.
Cold Shoulder Jacket – Rachel Roy // The material on this jacket is structured, but has stretch to it, so you never get that constricted feeling when wearing it.
Knit Crop Tank – Top Shop // Who knew I would get so much use out of $10 tank? Love it with high waisted pants and skirts.
Eyelet Side Slit Pencil Skirt – Top Shop // I’ve always been a rebel of the corporate world. This is another ‘eff you’ to the stiff pencil skirt. I love the jersey material and the sexy (but not too sexy) side slit.
Metallic Silver Ankle Boots // Not sure if you saw my post about transitional fall boots under $150 (you can check it out here), but these were on my list. A little metallic shine is on trend for 2017.
