I keep trying to remind myself that we’ve still got another month and a half of summer, since it ends up being 90 degrees for most of September here in NYC. Summer is one of my favorite seasons to dress for since confining sleeves are nowhere to be seen (I have this weird thing with my shoulders feeling boxed in by jackets and structured tops). This summer, I’ve gravitated to a few key pieces in my closet over and over again. It’s made creatively dressing warm days crazy simple, so I wanted to share them with you guys. Scroll down for the summer outfit staples I’ve been able to recreate new looks with by switching up how I style them.
I can’t get enough of these. And I legit get compliments every time I wear them. Whether its a monochromatic look with a navy crop top or with a lightweight cotton body suit, these are what I’m pulling out of my closet the most.
This one is a slight deviation from my normal neutrals and blues, but it makes for a really fun summer piece. It’s also crazy versatile. I’ve worn it with a jean jacket and platform sneakers to make it more casual. I’ve also add a waist belt (big fall trend) to make it my own for more polished days.
This was one of the most affordable staples I bought for summer, and I’ll definitely be pulling this one into fall with my boho maxi dresses and heeled boots.
Last week I wore these pants four days (don’t judge–I just LOVE them). They’re lightweight and work just as well with crop tops as they do with a tucked in tank top. As we start to move into fall, I’m going to pair it with a ribbed sweater.
You guys! I knoww…where have I been? Life. That’s where. Work…
