What kind of dress do you guys gravitate towards in the summer? When it comes to the really hot days, I’m all about lightweight fabrics and floaty shapes (i.e. maxi dress outfits all day errr’y day). While in Miami over the weekend, this was my go-to daytime look. I just love how effortlessly pretty it feels. We spent Sunday walking through Wynwood, a neighborhood that has tons of beautiful graffiti murals made by local artists. It’s like the Brooklyn of Miami, so I felt right at home. And my maxi dress outfit coordinated with the artwork way too perfectly–I swear I didn’t plan it!

Let’s talk about tie dye for a second. Because apparently everything ’90s is coming back, this is a trend for summer. This could be oh-so-good or not-so-good depending on how to you style it. My tip? Don’t go the rainbow route, lest you risk looking like you’ve just DIY’d your outfit at summer camp (or if you’re like me, at Girl Scout camp adding as many squirts of dye as possible to the bucket). But tie dye prints in neutrals like navy, black and camel are super-chic. Plus, that leaves room to play with colorful accessories, like a pair of tropical-inspired fringe earrings–also another trend this season.
