Not sure what to cook for the special evening?
After all, there’s nothing like a meal made with love.
Also, I recommend dressing in something that’s a little sexy, but comfortable enough for home.
This will be the focal point of the table. Opt for a short vase so you can see each other over the flowers while eating. I grabbed two sizes of roses in complementary colors, cutting the stems short and evenly distributing them throughout the vase. Accent with tea lights or a few candles of varying heights, and you’re set.

Here’s a little tip: Food looks much more appetizing on a white plate. Sure, that colorful design looks great before the food goes on, but then said food competes with it, and it’s no bueno. Shoot for simple white plates with a grey cloth napkin or tea towel placed underneath and silverware with some visual interest. I love the rustic copper on this flatware set.

This is the ultimate elevating aspect to the table setting and meal, and it just takes a few minutes. Using brown cardboard paper, creatively write out what you’ll be serving for the evening. Place a sprig of any herb like rosemary, thyme or sage on top and tie a little twine around the menu to hold it in place.
